I had some great feedback from one of my clients yesterday who is going to apply to GSK for a Computational Pharmaceutics PhD Studentship in the near future. Here is what she had to say:

"Thank you for today’s session. I really enjoyed it. The feedback you gave me was very meticulous and useful. I am reflecting on it and editing my application."

It was an interesting session where I was able to explain the need to tell the ‘story’.

The key thing is to link past experiences and existing skill-sets to the future PhD study. The rationale needs to be in place in order for recruiters to take the application seriously. During our session, I outlined how the application of advanced materials characterisation techniques within the laboratory setting [her past study] can link with in-silico approaches [her future study], to allow for a better understanding of formulation behaviour and hence therapeutic outcomes. It’s all about the linkage!
