One‑to‑One Academic and Prescribing Support for Healthcare Students and Professionals
One‑to‑One Academic and Prescribing Support for Healthcare Students and Professionals
PharmaScholar provides one‑to‑one, academic support for healthcare students and professionals who are navigating the challenges of pharmacology, prescribing and clinical assessments for example....
I have real-world, academic and practical experience of supporting medical students, pharmacy students and prescribing trainees with applied pharmacology, prescribing safety plus clinical reasoning.
Support is offered online, confidentially and with a practical focus on helping learners strengthen their ability to apply knowledge to clinical questions, prescribing decisions and exam scenarios.
No obligation enquiries are welcome. Email: mike@pharmascholar.co.uk
This support may be helpful if:
You are finding pharmacology conceptually demanding or difficult to apply to clinical questions.
You are preparing for a prescribing exam or the prescribing safety assessment (PSA).
You are looking to develop confidence with clinical reasoning or prescribing decisions.
You are a healthcare student who feels revision alone isn’t quite translating into exam performance.
Many healthcare students and professionals look for pharmacology support, prescribing exam guidance, or clinical reasoning support at points where applied assessments feel particularly challenging. For example, this is especially common for SBAs, OSCEs, prescribing assessments, portfolios and other clinically applied exams. In these cases, safe reasoning and structured thinking are essential!
I offer structured academic support focused on:
Prescribing assessments and prescribing exams (e.g. BPS PSA for Medical Students).
Applied pharmacology and therapeutics development (e.g. As noted in the MPharm degree)
Clinical reasoning development for healthcare and medical students. (e.g. as per the MBBS degree)
Building structured approaches to exam questions and clinical scenarios.
Developing academic confidence in relation to real-world application.
For some learners, this support functions similarly to working with an online tutor for pharmacology or prescribing, for example.
Who I Work With
I support students and healthcare professionals working within UK healthcare education frameworks, including those studying or training in medicine, pharmacy, medical and non‑medical prescribing, dentistry, optometry and related healthcare disciplines.
Importantly, this also includes international students who are currently studying in the UK, or preparing for UK‑based healthcare courses and assessments. Support is aligned to UK assessment styles and expectations.
I am a UK‑based Pharmacist with experience supporting learners as they develop confidence and clarity in pharmacology, prescribing and clinically applied assessments. My work focuses on clinical reasoning, prescribing safety and helping students make sense of complex material, particularly in high‑stakes exam and portfolio settings.
Support is always one‑to‑one, confidential and tailored to the individual, with an emphasis on thinking clearly through clinical and prescribing problems rather than memorising answers or relying on shortcuts.
My work at PharmaScholar is undertaken independently and alongside my substantive professional Medical Educator role within a well-regarded Medical School located in the UK.
The sessions at PharmaScholar are one‑to‑one and fully confidential to enable a safe space to clarify pharmacology and prescribing concepts, for example.
I take time to work through clinical reasoning step‑by‑step, explore why particular exam answers are safer or more appropriate and also build your confidence when approaching unfamiliar medical scenarios.
You can book by simply emailing mike@pharmascholar.co.uk and arrangements can be made from there.
One‑to‑one online sessions are £60 per hour.
There is no obligation to book multiple sessions.
If you are looking for tutor support (e.g. in the fields of medicine or pharmacy), prescribing exam guidance or one‑to‑one clinical reasoning development, and feel this approach may be helpful, you are welcome to get in touch by email. There is no pressure and no commitment beyond an initial conversation.
