Programme Support

To be an effective prescriber, you must have a thorough understanding of drug pharmacology, real-world pharmaceutics, dose calculations, drug handling within the body, legal / ethical aspects plus constructive approaches to patient counselling.

Our Lead Tutor, Dr Davies, holds 26 years’ experience in these particular fields and fully understands the delicate interplay between each. Thus, we can support you along your non-medical prescribing journey to better understand the course material presented to you and contextualise the information supplied. Dr Davies has had first-hand experience of teaching Nurses, Pharmacists, Paramedics, Radiographers and Podiatrists; amongst others.

Overall, we can help you with the following areas to support your development along the non-medical prescribing course: basic / advanced pharmacology (i.e. drug pharmacokinetics / pharmacodynamics), drug interactions, adverse drug reactions, reference sources and managing polypharmacy / deprescribing. OSCE Preparation

Often, the Non-medical Prescribing programme is assessed via written examinations plus objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs). Our Lead Tutor has been directly involved in the preparation and execution of OSCE examinations at Liverpool John Moores University School of Pharmacy and The Edge Hill University Medical School, and is thus suitably placed to help you with your preparation in such a way that you succeed and acquire the grade that you deserve.

Dr Davies has the advantage of viewing OSCE assessment from ‘behind the scenes’ and therefore fully understands what the academic staff on your programme will be assessing during the process. In order to find out more simply get in touch today.

Coursework Support

Written elements and portfolios are staple elements of non-medical prescribing programmes throughout the United Kingdom and beyond. The written piece is designed to test your comprehension of the taught material and to assess whether you can place the information supplied into a real-world context.

Our Lead tutor has significant experience of writing at the Higher Education level and fully understands the standards that are required within Higher Education Institutions. Therefore, we are comfortably placed to review any draft work that you prepare and make appropriate suggestions / modifications such that you rapidly develop your skill set.
