The Managing Director and Lead Tutor at www.pharmascholar.co.uk is a fully accredited, United Kingdom registered Pharmacist with a PhD in Pharmaceutics from The University of Nottingham, Bristol-Myers Squibb and AstraZeneca.
Dr Davies holds 26 years’ experience across the Community, Hospital, Primary Care, Industrial and Academic Pharmacy sectors. His most recent role being the AstraZeneca Medical Educator for Respiratory Medicine across the North West region of England between February 2022 and February 2023.
Our Lead Tutor has a strong track record of delivering and assessing healthcare-based material to a wide range of people. For example, Dr Davies has taught in the region of 2700 individuals spanning the undergraduate (i.e. MPharm) and postgraduate (i.e. Nurses) levels to Medicine Counter Assistants employed in modern day, commercial practice.
More recently, in the AstraZeneca Medical Educator role, Dr Davies has delivered high level, peer-to-peer education sessions concerning Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and responded to a range of clinical questions accordingly.
All training is underpinned by the Post-Graduate Certificate in Higher Education, with distinction, plus Fellowship with the respected Higher Education Academy.

Additional professional teaching activities have included the delivery of healthcare-based problem-based learning (PBL) sessions along with inter-professional education (IPE) exercises. For example, Dr Davies was appointed as Academic Lead for emergency medicine ‘Stabilise’ sessions based at Aintree Hospital, Liverpool during which he supervised a mixed group of students who worked through mock medical cases to reach satisfactory patient outcomes.
Moreover, Dr Davies has released a total of 17 peer-reviewed journal articles into the public domain, is the lead on a patent application concerning inhaled formulation characterisation, has led a successful CrowdCube / Innovate UK campaign for funds totalling in excess of £200K, has worked as Scientific Director for his university spin-out company called Pulmorphix Limited and managed the bid for the prestigious Mylan Global Respiratory Awards 2017. External activities have been numerous and included for example Invited Speaker for the 1st European Sorption Science Conference in Vienna during 2018.
