NHS / Community Pharmacy Education Support

I am a Pharmacist by background and have an interest in teaching and developing others in the healthcare space plus supporting holistic patient care.

Over time, I have taught various healthcare topics including:

1.       Community pharmacy services (i.e. basic dispensing to NMS execution)

2.       Service delivery within primary care (i.e. SMRs, Asthma and COPD reviews)

3.       Disease presentation and medical management

4.       How pharmaceutics / dosage forms can be applied in disease management

5.       Critical aspects underpinning non-medical / independent prescribing

I have taught these topics, and others, to undergraduate and postgraduate students alongside medicine counter assistants and qualified healthcare professionals over a 20 year period

To support my real-world teaching experience, I hold the post-graduate certificate in Higher Education, with distinction, and am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

My recent exposure to healthcare systems includes work as a Locum Pharmacist, a Pharmacy Manager, a NHS PCN Clinical Pharmacist and the North West Medical Educator in Respiratory for AstraZeneca.  As such I will be able to support your development and that of your team on a one-to-one or group basis.

To that end, I can help with aspects such as:

·         University assignments (i.e. coursework elements)

·         University assessment preparation (i.e. revision sessions ahead of examinations)

·         Non-medical prescribing tuition / OSCE preparation

·         The Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) programmes

·         The preparation of NHS SMR templates

·         The preparation of Asthma / COPD Medicines Optimisation templates

·         The delivery of patient reviews (i.e. SMRs for NHS DES IFF QOF payment)
